Psalm 8: 2-10
2: by the mouth of babes and infants, thou hast founded a bulwark because
of thy foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.
3: When I look at thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the
stars which thou hast established;
4: what is man that thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that thou
dost care for him?
5: Yet thou hast made him little less than God, and dost crown him with
glory and honor.
6: Thou hast given him dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast
put all things under his feet,
7: all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
8: the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along
the paths of the sea.
John 15: 14-15
14: You are my friends if you do what I command you.
15: No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what
his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard
from my Father I have made known to you.
Romans 8: 31-39
31: What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who is against us?
32: He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he
not also give us all things with him?
33: Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who
justifies;
34: who is to condemn? Is it Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised
from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us?
35: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36: As it is written, "For thy sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered."
37: No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who
loved us.
38: For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39: nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be
able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I Corinthians 3: 16-17
16: Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit
dwells in you?
17: If any one destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's
temple is holy, and that temple you are.
Isaiah 12: 1-6
1: You will say in that day: "I will give thanks to thee, O LORD, for
though thou wast angry with me, thy anger turned away, and thou didst comfort
me.
2: "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid;
for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."
3: With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
4: And you will say in that day: "Give thanks to the LORD, call upon his
name; make known his deeds among the nations, proclaim that his name is exalted.
5: "Sing praises to the LORD, for he has done gloriously; let this be
known in all the earth.
6: Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst
is the Holy One of Israel."
Hebrews 12: 28-29
27: This phrase, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of what is
shaken, as of what has been made, in order that what cannot be shaken may
remain.
28: Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be
shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe;
Hebrews 13: 5-10
5: Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you
have; for he has said, "I will never fail you nor forsake you."
6: Hence we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper, I will not be
afraid; what can man do to me?"
7: Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God;
consider the outcome of their life, and imitate their faith.
8: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever.
9: Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings; for it is well
that the heart be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited
their adherents.
10: We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to
eat.
2 Timothy 2: 1-7
1: You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus,
2: and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to
faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
3: Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4: No soldier on service gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his
aim is to satisfy the one who enlisted him.
5: An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
6: It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the
crops.
7: Think over what I say, for the Lord will grant you understanding in
everything.
